As a city of neighborhoods, St. Paul is held together by gathering places in which its residents meet and share their lives. The Capitol City’s neighborhoods are defined, in many ways, by those places where people gather to share news, stories and laughter. Sweeney’s Saloon is one of those places. With its 1886 building that is full of charm and patio that is one of the best, Sweeney’s is the home of innumerable friendly disagreements, family squabbles and political spats. Offering bar food and a very good craft beer selection it has been a local watering hole for over 35 years.
